Poem Artwork

The sun setting in the west,

The weather cooling, wearing my vest,

The ocean still warmer than the air,

That seems inordinately unfair…

The western march of the sun,

Now setting all the more,

The moon on the horizon in the east,

A walk on the beach I got beforehand at least…

Getting dark from shadows long,

Late it is, even the gulls no longer sing their song,

The wind off the water starts to get strong,

Doesn’t matter, for nothing with a stroll on the beach is ever wrong…J

not a big fan of the dark at 4:30 thing. Whish we could change the clocks , maybe just skip right to 8:30pm, maybe just skip over that whole morning commute in the dark, you get my point.

Tinged with the sadness that the joy of summer is fading fast. The only thing more poignant is the loss of the boardwalk once again and the fact that you will never see that beautiful sunset over the Jersey shore (unless you are at Cape May, that is).

Glad to see that you're getting out more. And dear old Ma is sending you a gift for your beach wanderings.

Having taken these strolls many times there is nothing like it to calm the effects of a busy day. It is Natures tranquilizer.
