Scent of low tide...

...a scent can evoke the strongest of memories...

Poem Artwork

Nowhere near the sea,
Do I live right now,
But it smells the same nonetheless,
Low tide allowing the salt marsh to stink,
In the mud if you walked; like quick sand, you’d sink…

A favorite odor of mine since young,
When dad drove us home from Philly,
Of the salt air I could fill my lungs,
Dad used to think me quite silly…

I knew I was almost home,
When around the bend we came upon the marshlands,
After our trip to Philly & beyond, mom, dad & I did roam,
Now we were back at the beach, near my forever ocean and sands…

Dear VARLET VARMIT KNAVE KNUMB NUTS...

Salty ocean breezes are one thing but the marshy stench of rotted dead fish n crabs is somethin else!

I live across the avenue from Baltos Sewage Treatment Plant which I fondly call "SHIT CITY". The awlful offal can be sniffed inside an air conditioned car while 2 miles away on 695. It is a daily splendiferous malodorous smell to the senses...

Whereupon I say "HONEY... I'M HOME !!!"

By the way... the stinkin bucket one carried out to the outhouse each morning was kindly referred to as the ... "HONEY-POT" !!!

CUZ CUR ... THE ONE-ETH !!!
