Can be benevolent though more than likely malevolent...

Poem Artwork

Burns without regard for life or limb,
Intelligence it possesses though it is quite grim,
It is comprised of a kind of malevolence,
In no way is fire a benevolence…

Fire attracts the mind & eye,
To stare at it is quite meditative,
Do not though let it fool you,
It does of ones senses tend to belie,
If you allow it, fire will make you terribly die…

Without it though early man could not have progressed,
Yes it does after all have a benevolent side,
But left to its self, it will burn & destroy,
Fire is I believe the devil’s own ploy…

Each year thousands of forests are burned down by
carelessness and arson...your verses tow the line
and made a great poem.

Always,

Deborah

I like how you got out of your usual and moved into describing a phenomenon that we all know so well, use, honor, and fear. To be cleansed by fire is terrible indeed.

If controlled as in a campfire or fireplace, it's great. But take California, for instance............your last line applies!

Love ya!
