Lets keep the beaches and oceans clean, please...

Poem Artwork

 She normally tries very hard,

Sometimes she even distributes cards,

But humans still just leave their junk,

Plastic on our beaches is true , not bunk…

I picked up several pieces,

The plastic there never seems to decrease,

The beaches and the oceans will stay full of plastic,

Until humanity can get, regards cleaning, more enthusiastic…

But I always do my part,

Though I should bring along a cart,

I try to carry a small plastic bag,

Because some of the junk people leave,

Can certainly make anyone gag.

I like that sign and your poem. It's a shame people can't stop littering.

I'll go out of my way to pick up a turtle on the road.
I can't stand to see road kill on the asphalt.
The trash gets me upset as well.
But when it's on the beach, that's pure hell.
We have nothing to protect us when our feet are bare.
So I will pick up someones trash, it's just as well.
One plastic cup can spoil a beautiful view.
Amen!

Every beachgoers in the world should be doing what you're doing. And everyone that throws out something plastic should know where they are throwing it. But most don't care. It is for poets like you and I to remind them.

You made me recall the time I got out of my car and chastised the man emptying his car ashtray while waiting in line for the Aransas ferry. My wife and stepdaughter went into hysterics that I would confront him, but every time after that that he threw something out, my ugly face would be in his face. And Ma nature would win.

If only others would do their part. I've been known to wheel a trash can around our neighborhood, and pick up trash and litter. It always amazes me me how careless/heartless/lazy people can be. It's oure world, lets take care of it.

Good for you - I do that too ...on beaches, in parks and woodlands etc - The quantities are astounding.

I think, if we can't get people to do it voluntarily, the areas should be monitored and offenders should be fined. The levels of unemployment are rife, so I can't see that filling the post would be an issue.

Failing that, get lesser criminal prisoners on the job - make them give something back to society

...It's not rocket science!!!

Good job, Ed! I don't think humanity is going to be here much longer, anyway. We're sinking to the bottom like a rock! Maybe if a few more people would become as conscientious and caring as you are, we could at least delay our collective demise.
