Cloven Hooves...

Sort of Nature, anyway. Could be a deer or the Jersey Devil, either way, got to keep my camera handy...

CLOVEN HOOVES…

Could be I had a deer in my yard last night,

His prints showing oh so clearly in the snow,

Can’t think of anything else that might have crossed,

Short of the Jersey Devil as he supposedly has hooves…

I am living in the woods for the most part,

Not far from the haunts of the devil,

And of course deer are seen all along the road nearby,

Maybe they are what has driven Rufuz to bark so loudly,

In the night while I sleep.

Next time will have to look outside, when barking he is doing,

Will also have to keep my camera handy,

As it could make for a pretty dandy,

Little poem, a deer in my yard, or something similar.

Living at the shore all my life, with a short stint in the city,

I know nothing of prints in the snow,

Nor have I ever seen a deer so near as in my yard,

So this could be for me a treat, of momentous proportions,

So keep my site in your sight,

As someday soon, you may get to see,

A poem about a deer in his territory,

Or a wayward Jersey Devil,

Trying to find his way back home,

Now wouldn’t either of those scenarios be great?

With the temperatures getting unusual cold for the parts you live in you might find some interesting surprises when you open your drapes to see what has got Rufuz barking :-)

It's gotta be the Jersey devil. What would a deer be doing in your yard? I'll vote it's the devil. LOL
Best regards,
Leland

We have a pear tree in our back yard. I got a lot of footage of a deer and her fawn eating pears.
Enjoyed
Have a great day!

I think it's the Jersey Devil; another wily mythical creature never before captured on film; and a great subject for Kate Clifford's Myth Challenge. Get that camera ready, Ed. Inquiring minds want to know.
