Poem Artwork

                A natural habitat of mangroves

What makes all things move?

Life takes you far and wide

The busy mumble of the bee

Or the crooning of the sea

There is force in inanimate things

 Like breath in life forms

Look how the wind supports

And the Sun gives its all and we breathe

So simple life should be

But the man in his quest for more

Often plays with nature’s core

Illegal mining, move the earth

 Tree felling, polluting streams

Choking air, concrete jungles

The green lungs soon turn blue

 Haphazard climate, strange weathers

Global warming, are all here

Moving mountains, bares the soul

Falling soils, rains come in hurls

Manmade causes defying norms

Save our planet, save our plants

Let us come clean, and pay heed.

J K Roseline

Great poem for today. We need to keep reminding people of these problems. We need to fix them somehow.

I like the idea of "coming clean." If only all of our corporations and their minions would not act like destructive children in their quest for riches, and came clean with their boasts about how their products and services are helping us while sweeping their dirt under the rug. What a wonderful world it would be.

Keep up the good fight, because it is poets and dreamers that see beyond the thin layer of greed.

We are custodians of her outer skin.
We know nothing of her soul.
