There are hundreds of poems about spring
Even in medieval poetry spring is intimately associated with tender love,
I write this poem on spring in the same model of Edna St Vincent Millay, an American poet of the 20s says,To what purpose do you return again... I am so touched by this line ..I wrote one similar to hers .

April spring

Why do you return to dance again

Our hearts sour with envy ,  your captivating glance

Your bleeting alone is not enough

  I long  some  concrete show

Your tender shining  leaves  do not attract any more

 The mango flowers clusters droop

Like rich bosoms the blossoms  bounce and shake, never still

Alive with hope of  fullness of  golden juice divine

The sun just stares , my lips like warm fruits ebb

The  cool air filled with smell of bitter flowers

 The   raw wet earth  fertile

But the heart of man  why not right

Eaten by doubt, strife  and ego, the clash

Life  is  deep empty hole to fill

Blank space here and there I see

 Struggle, hurt, hard life everywhere

What use is your tumbling  down the mountain for me

 O April!

Drives  like a drunkard ,doubly doused spewing dust and doubt

You have been especially poetic in this one. You seem to describe a very hard spring after an unforgiving winter. I'm beginning to think it is more a metaphor for political turmoil that is taking place and pressing hard upon the Indian sub continent. Or, it could be in your personal life since I haven't seen you posting recently.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it! ;-)

That is quite the line (above) and thank you for an awesome poem. Love and best wishes,

I went back and read her poem (for the first time, actually) and Miss Millay took the optimistic approach to Spring, while you seem to have taken the pessimistic approach. Does Spring arrives to wash away misery, or, why bother when things are so miserable? Or are you saying "leave me alone, I'm not ready to be happy yet?" The Roseline I know is a happy optimistic person. But it's OK to be sad if that's how you feel. Or are you just teasing us?...

Pretty much sums it up for me too, JK. You did a good job of using Edna St Vincent Millay's one line to build a poem around. Success! Well done!
