THE SOCK MONSTER
There’s a monster in our laundry room,
He eats our socks left and right.
Whenever we do laundry,
His appetite’s a fright.
The sock monster’s never been seen,
But we know he’s there.
Socks just don’t get up and walk away,
Or disappear into thin air.
He likes any color or size of sock,
But only one of a pair gets ate.
He’ll eat a foot of cotton,
And leave our socks without a mate.
Our pile of unmatched socks keeps growing,
But the sock monster doesn’t care.
Every time he socks it to us,
There's one less sock to wear.

But we also have a shirt monster who always mixes them up with a blouse!
These monsters all work while we sleep, I am sure that's the case.
But I find even if we move the monsters wind up in our suitcase! LOL
Great poem Sir Michael, thoroughly enjoyed! John Michael
