Here a newly made corporate officer and uptight mate
Unaware that their status of purchased social positions
Requires an initial cool avoidance by the crusty rich
Participants playing in overtime after the game is over
The wax museum smiles on ambitious social climbers
Hoping to further careers already shaky and time-heavy
At last we slip into low gear meeting a new couple to
Enjoy chatting through suspicious finger food before
Losing a sticky bout with a defiant super sweet dessert
I'm with Taylor on this one. We have done the social set from high teas at the Davis Cup to the strawberries and creme at Kentucky Downs to the Heritage Classic to you name it in ther south...been there. From the snobby rich to the hanger's on it's a social scene I'd rather sit back and watch rather than hurt someone's feelings ( and this is hard to do) by waxing poitical...and I can do that too. You paint the "AIR" of the social set and the chessy smiles and porcelain enamels... tres sweet!
Man oh man did you ever paint an all too familiar picture of the command performance party and all the cast of artificial players...right down to the whispered, "How long do we have to stay?"
