Be My Valentine

Valentine’s Day reminds me to say, I love you to my wife,
It always comes real easy cause she’s the best part of my life,

Bad habits and bad choices she’s been working on me for years,
Too bad I didn’t meet her while I was still wet behind the ears,

Can’t say that would have helped much, trouble was my biggest fan,
Most times it’s harder to put up with myself ,than it is with Fran,

I reckon that’s one way of putting it, we’ll keep that ol’wheel turning,
And find each day a winning way to keep that love light burning,

If you know that daily love is what feeds the ol’love lamps,
After fifty five years of marriage , We gotta be co-champs,

Valentine’s Day for some folks, comes but one day of the year,
It should be very special , not just something that you cheer,

A valentine is not for casual romance or for just a friend,
But for one you dearly treasure, that shares your every whim,

A bouquet of flowers is always nice, not for any special reason,
And It’s helpful to say I love you, that never goes out of season,

The roses all will wither until petals just remain,
The cards and letters will be discarded, a few you might retain,

There’s lots of fun and crazy ones that you’ll enjoy with friends,
With lots of catchy phrases that are the living end,

But the one that means the most to me , and warms me every time,
Is one that Says “I really love you Babe, You’ll always be my Valentine”.
