A fishing experience?

So You Wanna Go Fishin

You know I ain’t much of a fisherman, but I do know a few,
They use most every kind of bait and tie their own lures too,

Below our camp was a fishing hole that I just had to see,
I’d heard many fishing tales, but this one happened to me,

The many claims of bass and trout were too hard to believe,
One afternoon I just had to try it, my doubts to relieve ,

My luck was bad to begin with and I should have turned about,
I had to walk two hundred yards, because the road was out,

As I approached the river , I saw the strangest sight,
A half grown red tail squirrel was in a terrible plight,

He was trying to get an acorn , but try as he might,
He couldn’t reach that acorn, but wouldn’t give up the fight,

As he approached the acorn the slender limb would bend.
Towards the water scared the squirrel, and he’d run back up again,

Finally in desperation he made it there without a fall,
Suddenly! a big Mouthed Bass jumped up grabbing acorn , squirrel and all!

God I sat there in total shock , I think my eyesight must be poor,
I’ve seen a number of big Mouthed Bass but never one this size before!

Every thing turned really quiet, peaceful and serene ,
I just couldn’t get over what it was that I had seen.

But suddenly that big fish appeared and really shocked me when,
He swam slowly with that acorn and placed it on that limb again!
