It's an old joke I had some fun with

Telegraph Message

Two sisters run a farm and their bull just bit the dust
We gotta get a new bull or we just go bust,

Old sis says I’ll go to town and buy a bull from that Sales Yard Staff,
We don’t have a telephone but I’ll use that telegraph,

And if I have bought the bull, I’ll send you notice later,
You’ll get my message thru ol’ Joe the Tgraph operator.

Then hitch the trailer to the truck and bring it into town
I’ll be at the stock yards , you can bring that truck around.,

Well Glory be, They had a bull , but the cost was ,overboard,
She just had to get one, but one she could afford,

The price took all her money , leaving her a dollar bill.
Now to see that telegraph and send a message o’er the hill.

The operator said, now maybe Miss, I don’t know what you’ve heard ,
But after all addressing , it costs a buck per word,

Sis was deep disheartened, her message chance was dead,
She thought for just a minute , then brightened up and said,

I’ll take that buck per word. Just type comfortable to send,
She’ll get my message and you bet she’ll bring that trailer in,

The operator was dumbfounded, a crazy note from you,
One word to your sister you think that it will do,

Sis say’s don’t you worry, my sisters kinda slow,
Being blonde can be a blessing sometimes don’t you know.

She’ll just read that word one syllable at a time,
And I’m sure she’ll get the message, her reading’s just a crime.

Yeah, she’ll break down my one word to a message plain and full,
She’ll slowly read that one long word as Com -for- de- bull!
