Thanks to Ron Hull for throwing this gem of a true event( see link below) my way to give it a shot at humor. Most times my warped mind works that way. Hope you enjoy.

Simon’s Streetcar

Busted in the butt by a metro buss, he flew through the street way with ease,
He landed in a clump, not on his rump, but down on his face and his knees,

Be damned that was close, missed the light post; worst accident I’ve ever seen,
I’m still in one piece, guess I ain’t deceased, let’s celebrate , God save the Queen!,

Hey the pub is right there, just missed by a hair, that’s where I had figured to stay,
It just wasn’t my plan, to stagger in outta hand; usually I just left it that way,

So excuse me you blokes, I ain’t broke no spokes and you’ve telly’ed the Bobby’s a nod
They’ll wait a bit cause i need a big hit, from a jug of ol’jolly Grog,

Now undeterred by events so absurd, I‘m sent in to these doctor folk,
Nothing but skin and a bruise now and then; another ol’grim reaper joke,

Once back at the pub, and now here’s the rub, everyone buys me a drink,
The Buss liner guy came hurrying by, I told him I , I need time to think,

The Pub owner Dan, said , I’d hold on man This insurance guy was all smiles,
Bet they’ll offer you rides through the whole country side calling them free flyer miles,

But Simon ,my friend, as a favor come in and l’ll buy you a Grog and a steak,
Lawyers near and far will be jamming my Bar all wanting a piece of your cake.
