Doc’s Advice

Doctor said, I’m doing well, but that worried me some,
I almost wished I’d missed his call and decided not to come,

Doctor, do you reckon I’ll live till eighty eight,
I’ve made it now to eighty and don’t you thinks that’s great’

Doc asked , do you smoke tobacco or drink beer and wine,
Told him No , I get along without them all just fine,

Well how about eatin steak and desserts that’s hard to beat,
No gotta stay away from sugars and mostly pure red meat,

Heart doc says I gotta weak and failing heart, forget the eating pleasure,
So I take it , you also have to do everything physical in measure,

Yes, I don’t do running , biking or swimming much that’s certain,
A little too much over do and the coroner draws the curtain,

How about playing the horses enjoying sex or driving race cars,
No all those things are past , can’t even visit the local Bars,

Well sir I’ve gotta ask you, with all the don’t do’s that you state,
Why would you even want to live till eighty eight?

Well my life was kinda wasted and my afflictions may be ample
But I can still find a lotta pleasure serving as a Bad Example.
