Coffee Mug Drinkin
John was at the outside table, more than a little unsteady, ‘
He’d poured three whiskey doubles down already ,
Suddenly a local Nun appeared, blasting the sins of drinking,
The Devils own invention , a drink so vile, it destroys all your thinking,
It poison’s the body ,and destroys your mind,
You’ll be on the street, with the homeless kind,
He said wait a minute lady , you’re way off base,
This here is a barroom, , not a church’in place,
How do you know, what I do is a sin,
You ever tasted whiskey, in that Covenant you’re in ?
I Didn’t think so sister, now. I’ll tell you what,
I’ll buy you a good whiskey, it’ll warm up the gut,
If you don’t like it say so and I’ll, tell you what I’ll do’,
I’ll give up my drinking, it’s up to you,
Nun sayin no , folks’ll see me out here,
Sister Superior will kill me I fear,
Maybe, I could drink from a big coffee cup,
Won’t think it’s whiskey when I drink it up,
Sister just you hang on , I’ll only be a minute,
I’ll get you a straight Vodka with a big cherry in it,
John rushed to the Bar room calling for the drink,
Said make it a full double, on the rocks I think,
Put it in a coffee mug, I know you’ve got a pair,
Don’t want no one seeing her drinkin out there,
John , that coffee mug is one dead give away,
That’s the third one I’ve mixed and sent outside today,
You maybe didn’t know this, but tell me good friend,
Is that whiskey drinkin Sister, back out there again?
