Some gal threw a story at me that I resemble so I put it into poetry for sharing. We need more laughter in this world. Too much bad news increases depression.
Hear Me Now!
Ok doctor I mentioned it to Ann, maybe she ain’t hearing right,
Yes sir I told her, you cain’t help her, but hearing Aids just might,
Can i try some kind of test , anything that you’ve got,
That’ll finally convince her that her ears are shot,
You could try the distance test, that’ll work, in most cases,
Just ask a normal question and then move to closer places,
She’ll answer when she hears you, it works every time,
Believe me loss of hearing is just a living crime,
Ann was getting dinner ready, she was almost done,
So I tried this from the living room ,What’s for dinner hon,
I got no answer so I moved over into the hall,
Once again I asked the question ,still no reply at all,
I walked further past the hallway and asked again once more,
But still I got no answer, it was quiet like before,
Then asking from the dining room surely she could hear me now,
But no she failed to answer, Doctor’s test is wrong somehow,
But she answered more than angry as I stepped into the Kitchen,
Damnit, for the fifth time listen closely !! We’re having my fried chicken!!
You got me there! As one who is now experiencing that problem, I see what you mean about her not hearing you and not answering you, five times. Like they used to say, "time to get yer ears cleaned, Sonny!"
A TALL story, Tom. You mean, you could hear your Doc alright, but NOT your "hon"_ey right in her presence in the kitchen? It's really good of you to mislead the reader in the first two lines. OK, nevermind, who cares! You say you did it to provoke laughter. Depends on why one laughs. Keep trying...
