It is now known that Neanderthal and Denison branches of the human race did not die out completely as originally thought. Apparently, they interbred with European and Asian branches of the Cro-Magnon migration and are present in the DNA of people from those regions.

Assimilation

Opposites attract,

causing assimilation,

a blending of genes,

a hybrid of a notion.

Isolation breeds diversity,

the uniqueness of life,

it also breeds weakness,

inability to deal with strife.

The strength of assimilation,

is the blending of genes,

tolerance of the environment,

much more than it seems.

We all know that the purebred,

is subject to genetic flaws,

the mongrel in society,

survives better nature's laws.

Technology, mobility and language,

is changing the human race.

Opposites are reproducing now,

at an amazing pace.

In due time, here on the earth,

we'll have one ameliorated blend,

one homogenized people,

from Earth's end to end.

There is one saving grace.

We will once again diversify,

through long isolation,

as we move out into space.

I hope I am still alive when we move out into space, for I would love to see the earth one last time but from out there where I can get the whole picture, as it were...-e-

THE BLENDING OF GENES, HOMOGENIZATION...ETC, IS A WORLD-WIDE MANISFESTATION, OF COURSE...FOR WE ARE HUMANS MADE BY GOD, AND HE WANTED IT THAT WAY. BUT SOME HOLD THESE THINGS AS 'VALUABLE' IN ORDER TO SATISFY AN INABILITY TO 'SEE' WITH THE HEART OF GOD. THE WORD TELLS ME, 'REGARDLESS' OF OUR GENETIC SCOPE, WE ARE ALL 'ONE' NATION UNDER GOD! AND FOR ME, THAT DOES IT, 'THAT'S' GOD'S PERFECT WILL! TO BE ABLE TO LIVE, GROW AND FREELY LOVE WITH THE LOVE OF GOD...REGARDLESS...OF A PERSON'S BLOOD LINE, NOW, THAT'S 'PERFECT ASSIMILATION'! WE SHOULD ALL RECOGNIZE WHO WE ARE, YES. BUT THE PRIME OBJECTIVE IS TO EMBRACE 'WHOSE' WE ALL ARE. REMEMBER GOD IS NO RESPECTOR OF PERSONS, MEANING; TO GOD, WE ARE ALL EQUAL IN HIS SIGHT...NOT ONE PERSON IS BETTER OR OF A HIGHER 'QUALITY' THAN THE OTHER. STOP LOOKING ON THE OUTSIDE, HE SAYS, LOOK ON THE HEART. THIS IS THE WAY GOD WANTS US TO LOVE AND SEE OUR FELLOW MAN...HERE ON EARTH AND, CERTAINLY...WILL BE SO, IN OUR ETERNAL HOME. THANKS FOR SHARING, MY FRIEND. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+ INSPIRATIONS.

I think prejudice just morphs in other directions like an aberrant gene gone haywire.

All life has been subjected to genetic flaws, imperfections, and defects temporarily by the Creator. Assimilation, absorption, acculturation; these are not the key, transformation is. This piece has a science-fiction feel to it. r

As usual, Ron, you put out another kick-ass poetical rendering. I loved it completely.

There are exceptions to every rule of course, but the more blended we are the better we are. It wasn't that long ago that a mixed marriage was almost unheard of, but those times are definitely changing fast. If we reach the point where there's a little bit of everything in us, I wonder if prejudice will end. Your poem offers much to ponder on.

Your words make me think that perhaps my kids are a little too pure. I'm 100 % Finnish and the sperm donor was Hungarian.........very close. Maybe that's what's wrong with them!! LOL!! I enjoyed this very much, Ron!

Love ya!

This poem should make us all think long and hard. As always, it is a excellent summation of the world we live in. We would be better off being ameliorated because it would eliminate so much strife. I always thought it would be something happening way in the future. But I guess water will always find its own level.
