There is a tremendous cost to maintaining the lives of the weak and aged. Particularly when many of them would tell you that they don't mind dying rather than having all this medicine keeping them alive. The right to life also should include a right to death. But viruses and other diseases don't operate on what humans think. They attack those with weakened immune systems and other conditions. I think it is preferable for death to be quick, rather than a prolonged battle over many months or years losing, like my father's superbug battle with pneumonia over four months before he died.

Contagion

Contagion is raging and nobody knows.

Where it comes from and where it goes.

Contagion appears out of the blue,

contagion loves to attack both me and you.

"Don't worry, in summer, away it goes."

The king announces without any clothes.

You can't stop contagion from doing its work,

anyone who believes this may just be a jerk.

Contagion runs through quickly killing the weak.

Struggling to save them, medicine on the brink.

Slowing contagion's progress seems a great plan,

quarantining wreaks economic havoc on the land.

Of course, letting contagion run does the same,

but of shorter duration in the natural culling game.

Where predators like contagion take the weak,

ensuring that the gene pool maintains its peak.

For when the strongest truly survive,

everyone in the population benefits alive.

Medicine works hard to keep the weak from dying,

suffering may tell you they are better off going.

It's a hard thing for many to lose family members,

but we all die anyway, if cremated, become just embers.

The survivors of contagion are stronger for its passing,

whole world moves forward into the future everlasting.

WHAT GOD ALLOWS IS NOT ALWAYS UNDERSTOOD. AND ALL I CAN SAY IS...I AM ELATED THAT 'GOD' MAKES ALL THE DECISIONS REGARDING LIFE AND DEATH AND NOT...ANY ONE OF US. BECAUSE, MANY ARE PRONE TO TURN HUMAN BEINGS INTO UNNEEDED, AGED 'THINGS'...THAT ARE JUST TAKING UP SPACE AND AIR. BY THE WAY, HAVE YOU TAKEN NOTE OF THE HEADLINES WHEREBY SEVERAL OLD PEOPLE HAVE ASTOUNDED THE MEDICAL PROFESSION BY SURVIVING? NO DEATH,(OR ANYTHING ELSE I MIGHT ADD)NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES, IS OF ANY SURPRISE TO GOD...FOR WHEN 'HE' GAVE THE FIRST BREATH, HE 'KNEW' WHEN THE LAST ONE WOULD BE TAKEN. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT ANY ONE ELSE, BUT AS FOR ME...AT 75, I'M STILL PRESSING-ON! AND I WILL AS LONG AS HE WANTS ME TO BECAUSE MY LIFE IN IN 'HIS HANDS'....CONTAGION OR NO CONTAGION! INTERESTING SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

Thoughtful words.
About pains and general loss.

Some might think you offer a "harsh" perspective here but it is facing reality, you do make some good points. I too watched as my father lingered on not even aware of his surroundings, months before passing on. Oh, and there are many who believe that this virus was released on purpose by "the powers that be" whoever they may be so as to cull the population of this planet which is far too great in any case. Thank you for sharing, Ron. Love and peace and best wishes,

Regis. 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁

You raise an interesting point here, Ron, worth considering, namely the benefit of prolonged and prolonging suffering. The virus will indeed kill off many, and those that survive will be stronger, just as those other flus in history proved.

PS: a small point, "wreaks havoc."

Yes, to you your pre-summary, my desire to exit this "wonderful" world is very strong, tired of over popping so many pills to keep me alive, now the only thing I seem to have is a drive to die...-e-
