A challenge from a poet for all of us to write an itty bitty rhymey ditty. No prose allowed. This one is mine.
The rain gets deeper in my gutter where the leaves were all a clutter I put my ladder upon the eave and then I really began to heave those rotten leaves all the way down but fell and broke my pumpkin crown
The water filled my water spout and washed an itsy spider out
He bit on me with all its might to pay me back for his web site that washed away down the drain and caused him much unbearable pain
He crawled up one side, down the other and said, I will tell you brother since you heaved a gutter of clutter that left my web afloat and flutter you could post me on a site where I could get in a forum fight and sting the dickens out of those who write their poems in icky prose
What a great poem, Rusty.! Your sense of humor is a delight and I always leave your den with a smile and a sense of joy! Thank you!
Think I'll put my spider poem up;-)
I loved it...you never cease to make me smile...and usually just when I need it the most. Just drug in from a long week of work, two three late evenings and few hours of sleep...sitting here worn down and read this...what hoot! You are a delight my friend...I think I'll read this one to my husband, he hates cleaning the gutters, and guess what ours need cleaned this weekend...again, what a hoot!
