I'm told to eat my veggies
to grow up big and strong.
But I don't think my tummy,
is where those things belong.

Rutabagas, parsnips
beets and leafy things
do not ever, fill me up
I need some onion rings.

Taters, radishes, carrots
and other rooty stuff,
really don't, taste too good
and satisfy enough.

The roughage of a veggie
doesn't slide down well.
Cook me up a burger
and ring the dinner bell.

I'll take a bun, a hot dog
and a pickle dill
charcoaled hot and tasty
on the backyard grill.

One veggie that I like
is plump, round and red.
I squeeze it out the bottle
on my sandwich bread.

If I get behind in eating
leafy, rooty food
I'll pour it out, on my plate
and Ketchup for good.
