Here we go again! LOL Tornado watches immediately to our east, severe storms building up quickly.
Thunderstorms that have (so far) managed to avoid North Central Texas (where I live, anyway) try to move in. They gather, plotting and planning their war strategy.
Spidery fingers of lightning stroke the turbulent, Stygian clouds. Agitated drumrolls of thunder peal like a claxon: Activate the troops! Warriors attack.
The walls of my home tremble in fear; what I thought was shelter may become my grave. Lightning stabs down, in a search and destroy mission. I am locked in unerring sites.
Wind-driven rain and hail tattoo against suddenly fragile walls. They seek to gain entrance, or to make me go mad with fear. Either way, I am a storm casualty.

Photo is very powerful and I use to love storms as a child but didn't understand what they did. Now they don't scare me but there is no love here for them as it seems once a year now our area feeling the damage from them. Thank goodness it was minor last night in middle tenn.

My daughter loved this photo. She loves tornadoes, but now have three of her own to chase after :-) Great write.
I usually enjoy a thunderstorm, but you have gone and scared me.
I better find where the cat went, she knows where it is safe.

Brilliantly discribed, I love violent storms, kinda refreshing, but never could I live in Texas. I don't think it was meant to be inhabited. north central? can't be far from Abiline, by texan standards?
You certainly are a casualty of a storm, crazy as a thunderstorm in May are you & wacky beyond all help...LOL! I liked this one alot, seems we are getting darker int he west today too, but rufuz and I are still going to the beach for a quick ride...love the storms on the beach...ED & Rufuz

I am just fine girl....just poetry....some stormy weather at homefront at times.....but ME "TINKA" can handle it by this time....lol!!
My poem actualy started of...looking at streetkids.....on rainy days....feeling sorry for them........but turned out to be much deeper i guess.....it became more personal..."Alcohol and Sex" can cause a Storm like mine!!
