Watched the Geminid meteor shower last night before bed, and got up an hour before sunrise and saw more shooting stars. The wind whispering through naked branches and the show above inspired this one. :) (And yes, it was COLD!! but worth it. *grins*)
In the brittleness of a frozen night, Stars wink, My twin sister and I think of God's eyes As they Look down from the Heavens on both of us.
Suddenly there is a bright flash of light, As a Meteor signs its name on the starlit skies, A quick Bold signature autographed with no fuss.
The trees wrap their branches around themselves As the Wind strips them of rainment, leaving them bare. They talk And fondly recall the lost summer days.
Texas trees hate cold, unlike Santa's elves, And they Do not like shivering in the cold air... And in The dark skies above, the meteors play

It was a spectacular show. To see even one shooting star, seems like a blessing but to see them skirting all over the sky is an amazing thrill that takes my breath away. Nice write, Karla. I am glad you got to see this.
