A bit of silliness - enjoy!

The eternal struggle continues To write the perfect poem - My Thesaurus has blown a fuse I've gone through ten thousand pens - My Muse lies there, gasping, on the floor As I burn the midnight oil - There are new words that must be explored And so through the dark, I toil - The trashcan's overflowing with rhyme And less than perfect meter - I promise that I'll get it NEXT time And drink tea by the liter - The eternal struggle continues To write the perfect poem - I shan't sleep again, nor will my Muse 'Long as there's poems to pen - (c) 2005, by Karla Dorman.

Pens? Dollar Store; 100 for a buck 99 (smile)!
What gets me is that I never can find a pen at that right moment whenever I'm away from home. So anything that can be scribbled on becomes the victim of my muse (but not the walls of city hall-oh what I could write on those hypocritical bricks!)
