"One Hundred Seven" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So H O T, it hurts to inhale, lungs heaving against heat that builds and will not relent; so H O T, you shrivel inside as you become one with the sweat pudd'ling at your feet; so H O T, all you can do is watch temperatures climb as well as electric bills; so H O T, even ninety sounds good ... one hundred seven just a bit ridiculous!!
"Summer" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...ground, brittle; baked to desication by the oven once known by another name: the sun. ...the grass, returned to the soil from whence it came: scattered ashes tossed by mourner's palms: dead seed. ...the air, skeletal fragments skittering like stones in the lungs, devoid of moisture: dry bones. this, people is heat: a shared misery in my backyard as well as in your own: summer.

We lucked out, two days in the upper 90's with indicies (what the hell is an indicies...? Sounds kinda indecent...)...I know about the breathing stuff, I have been experiencing that too, I just thought my boobs got too big...:0

Know the feeling. Today is our hottest day on record..
Dry and arid as it gets...when the rains come we appreciate our liquid nourishment the more. I'm with you guys with this heat thing. It's so dry everything turns to scales doesn't it?
Ugh dont remind me LOL, that is why I am in mt A/C townhouse it hit a hundred and nine yesterday, and it may o the same today, I want the cooler weather LOL, this is no fun, write on and be blessed
God Bless
Michelle!
90 does sound good, all of a sudden. It's been over a hundred around here, too, with the heat index, Yikes! I think Global Warming might be here with a vengeance. I just hope it doesn't bring more of those far too nasty hurricanes.
oh, Karla, these are fabulous descriptions and ones that I am living myself despite the mere 102 degrees we're expecting today! (: I don't think that I've ever told you, but one thing that I really enjoy about your poetry is how in tune with nature you are.
Explore the mystery of how nature makes unexpected gifts of creative wonders to an unsuspecting caregiver one late night and early morning in southeastern Georgia, USA.
