The poem is a direct result from the second picture. Enjoy!
Whenever the mood strikes, I cruise to the tropics on the H.M.S. Sweat. Fanning the shirt from my chest, I give the natives a view they'll remember. I dance along the beach, swaying to the ancient rhythms as old as me... Might as well enjoy them, these instant vacations, these things called hot flashes.
My vacations can't be too far away now :-) Love this thought and will keep it in mind when the time comes........as I sweat and someone shows me concern.......I'll say.......not to worry I am visiting Texas.
Hot flashes...sighs...there is no getting away from them, so you might as well enjoy them, right? I have completely given up on the line "never let them see you sweat," since any form of stress can certainly pop a flash, these days. I have heard that they will eventually go away, but after six years of having them, albeit they have lessened a bit in frequency, down to perhaps 5-10 a day from about 30, I have pretty much resolved myself to them being with me for the rest of my days...my mom is 80 and she still gets them...YIKES! I wrote a poem called "Changes" on this very subject a few years ago. A fun and revealing write, Karla...I now long for the winters, always having been a summer person before, and I spend a lot more time searching for nothing in my freezer. Life is a trip!
Take care,
Sherry
Its like my dear wife Michele says: "Honey, women don't sweat, they glisten."
I can relate Karla - this year I've developed some arthritis in my thumbs. Everytime you move now its a reminder that age is winning and that the body is losing.
A good and honest write Karla. You are so transparent with your feelings and your struggles. In my mind this is a blessing and worthy of praise.

Hey, it's been twenty years, and I still have them.
Have plenty of ice cubes on hand.
Well, Karla, you took me quite by surprise with this delightful piece of whimsy; but I thank you for the smiles anyway! Very cute poem; love your sense of humor! Keep it up! BRAVA!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin sister, Karen Lynn. :D
what a great attitude! a gal at work the other day was laughing about how her mother would send her grandaughter to the bus stop with no jacket in the cold weather...the grandmother was hot, so she figured everyone else must be, as well!
