It's G L O R I O U S outside. Thank you, Sandie Angel, Trish McQueen, Regis Auffray, Kate Clifford, my neighbors to the North for the relief!

Typing hard, as I sprung my ring finger, trying to catch a tennis ball. Nolan Ryan must live in my twin sister's arm...sign her up for the big leagues! What a fastball!

Overworked bellows of lungs
e x p a n d  in grateful rhthyms
of poems sung in ode to
the changing of the guard, a
shifting of weather patterns.
Joy comes in clarified air
squashing humidity and
summer's heat under the boots
of an advancing platoon
of Canadian soldiers.
An invasion we welcome,
as temperatures trend down -
nights, below A.C. levels,
the days are warm and pleasant.
Why can't we have this, year 'round?

(c) 2006, Karla Dorman.

Well Karla, I do appreciate the thanks. I am grateful if I had anything to do with it (lol). It is getting very cool here though with new snow on the mountains after a long, dry summer. Thank you for sharing your sentiments. Love and peace,

Regis

You know I sooo agree with your poetic words! It's timie for relief from the heat. What glorious cool nights we've been having. Even at nearly noon today we've not gotten up to 70 degrees!

Unique and energetic, Karla!! Your energy levels are discernibly up! Ahh, but the beauty is in the transition, isn't it?? Appreciation in the change. And what a transformation it must be, as grass once more looks less like burned stubble. Enjoy a well-earned Fall... may it last as long as the heat! A nice, red-carpet of a write which Lady Autumn graces well in her red and white! Neat! TY K xx

Mmm... I just LOVE this time of year! The "in-between." Can someone write a story or poem about "the in-between?" Between the hot and cold, between the new and old, the fall comes; but the true in-between is the time between... the summer and the fall, when all is not too hot and... not too cold - juuuusssttt right. -- Jeff

Karla, nature must take it's course and there is a reason for the four seasons. I note also you know Trish McQueen. We used to read each others poems. If you do contact her, give her my regards, please. Victor
