After highs in the 60s, Winter returns with screaming winds and falling temperatures.

Poem Artwork

Winter bites with a chilly mouth
full of bitter teeth that must pain
him terribly, the way he howls -

he's knocking at the north door,
demanding entrance.  Does he
think I'm a dentist or something?

Loved the thought behind this.
My beautiful young neighbour brought us round a piece of her first time made Christmas cake. She apologised that the icing had not set. I told her that meant she must love me. 'Cos if it had been hard and brittle icing, I would have beaten your moggy to the dentist!
