With Fred being Military for thirty years and his job taking care of those who fought, those on medical release, disabilities and the veterans, we see those Heros everyday. the difference is Karla, ours don't do without. Wish it was that way there. Great write.

I see these people every day out here. The busted, the wounded, the damaged, the scarred, the VA crowd, no purple hearts, no fanfare, no parades, but courageous beyond all description, now for the second time. For there is no creature on earth, great or small, with more courage than the soldier, or the addict in recovery.
