perennial (rise)

hardy and tenacious, the perennial
comes back year after year after year.

maybe we could take lessons from the
perennial...whatever life dishes out,
rise up to the occasion.

i'm beaten down by the storms of life,
but i will rise.
beset by troubles, beset by strife,
but i will rise.
enemies attack, they tear me down,
but i will rise.
once again, i'm trampled to the ground,
but i will rise.

given second chances, a third, fourth,
i will rise.
through the storms that blow out of the north,
i will rise.
even though i die, i will return,
i will rise.
should this be a lesson to be learned?
stand up:  RISE!

despite what life throws at me
i will rise
because it's programmed to be
i will rise
through winter's chill, i wait for spring
i will rise
i know i will make it through anything!

i rise
i rise
i rise!

EXCELLENT, Karla! Well written advice. I recall at 27yo having to use a cane and being told I'd be in a wheelchair within a year. Wanna bet! Watch me! I went home, threw the cane away--- wish I hadn't, it was a beautifully hand carved one from India--- and I'm still walking today at almost 60yo: once in a while, today, I do have to use a cane but not often. Praise the Lord! ~~Bonnie Q
