texas snowfall (Revised and Repost for Contest)

I'm dreaming again :-)

feathery flakes of white
gently floating
lazily spiraling
dizzily falling
drifting slowly to the ground
not much accumulation
but ohhhhhhhh so much fun!

and i am free to be a kid again
remembering snowfalls of my youth
in north central ohio
trying to recapture the magic i felt
as a kid in ohio
now living in north central texas
i haven't seen a good snow for a while
look at it its S N O W I N G
i'm going outside to play
i want to get out IN it

I WANT TO BE A PART OF IT

raising my face to the sky
watching the snowflakes
gently floating
lazily spiraling
dizzily falling
drifting slowly to the ground
hypnotized by the beauty of it all

trying to catch snowflakes
on my tongue in my mouth
laughing when i miss
laughing when i trip over my feet
because i'm not watching where i'm going
my face is caressed with whisper softness
phooo that one went up my nose
that one went behind my glasses
my brunette hair suddenly turns white
i become an instant senior citizen

but who cares i don't
the snowfall makes me feel like a child again
i make a snow angel
laying on my back i watch the snow
gently floating
lazily spiraling
dizzily falling

i hope it continues
maybe then i can build a snowman

Ah yes, a first snowfall in a long time Karla, I can imagine from your description just how it is. Your buddy Rufuz loves, did I say loves? well I meant !LOVES! the snow. His first act is to lay in it and make his puppy angels, just as you make your little snow angel. He always wants me to throw snow at him, seems to like it, LOL! Anyway we are getting a light covering tonight here, prior to the temps rising and rain coming to wash it away...Thank you so much for this wonderful posting, nothing like remembering what it was like to be a kid again and that first snowfall...Find Peace, Ed & Rufuz

You really capture the kid-like thrill and joy of the occasion. Excellent write, Karla. You had me walking in the snow with you.
Best regards,
Leland

Too bad you don't have a program to make the letters different colors to match the changing colors in the poem.
