Desert Blooms

The cactus blooms
as the sun rises

Dirt devils twist
stirred up by wild mustangs

The last howl
of a band of coyotes
as they hide away

The shadows grow
colors of a bloom
A brush strokes
a desert canvas
his eyes see all

The blooms of dawn
Ancient lava once flowed
now petrified
in a purple majestic mountain

The pages tell
of desert blooms
amidst glorious sunrises

Dirt devils twist
in the sun

Since I love the southwest and the deserts, I have to love this poem - and I wish I was there right now.

Stunning imagery!!

I see a cascade of sands across lands afar making waves like mother ocean in motion...now in caramel colours of golden sand leaving tiny ripples by your feet and the wind whispers his song!!

Lol Got me going on a trip for a moment here!!

but I am back,...lol!!
