with the song
still in my head
I lay you down
beneath my bed
where spiders sing
bright young poetry
and where night lies down
on a rolling, empty sea
with a song
stuck in my eyes
I kiss your fingertips
and tell you pretty lies
I nibble your broken heart
and nestle in your trees
bringing out my soul
to play with as you please
a whispered song
and I pull you through my dreams
where we make love all day
out of lonliness and sunlight beams
where our blue children play
in pink fields of gold
and your touch on my heart
never grows old
like a song
we'd live in a lyrics eye
and breathe cotton candy
loving sweetly, you and I
I'd mold you to my side
with fingerpaint and clay
and we'd sleep together always
if I ever had my way.
