Hunter's moon
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hunter's Moon (also known as Blood Moon or Sanguine Moon) is the first full moon after the harvest moon, which is the full moon nearest the autumnal equinox.
(It gets its name from hunters who tracked and killed their prey by autumn moonlight, stockpiling food for the winter ahead.)

Hunter's Moon

by Amber "V" Moonstone

10/14/08

By the light of the Hunter's Moon,
I track my prey,
in search of sustenance
for the winter's day.

Am I worthy of such a deed,
standing solitary beneath
the silvery beams
of this powerful Moon.

I search beneath the shadows thick,
worrying for my family's fate,
during winter's brutal cold,
This Moon's light will unfold.

Searching wildly and acute,
I know one thing
that I must do,
Pray for guidance from you.

The power of this Hunter's Moon,
can illuminate cold winter's gloom,
knowing that the prey I capture,
will satisfy our winter's rapture.

We must survive this next season,
for it will be a turning point reason,
for survival of the fittest kind
within moonlight to find

Illumination
for
Restoration
of
Mankind's reformation!

I have been out in the woods many a night returning from a hunt and that old moon not only lit up my way but gave me my bearings for the long hike back out of the deep woods...brings back memories for sure.

A bit of Native American ritual merged with Darwinism - survival of the fittest, Evolution fires off the seasonal bow and arrow, metaphorical quiver strapped over our shoulder in search of Luna's sustenance, Amber...illuminating as your beautiful cheekbones...high and prominent poetry...have a great fall season! A warm mug of hard cider to you! Cheers...

Love,
Sage
