Lori, your haiku remind me of Jack Kerouac's. His didn't follow traditional form either. But they captured the traditional essence. And that's what you do, too.

I love the imagery! Technically, though, they don't follow Haiku form. Maybe just call them triplets? :)

This is a great collection! I loved the humor in:

"the jungle king
is not dead-
just cat nipped "

And the strength in :

"
a kitten sleeps
dreaming of now and then-
her inner lion found "
