Teasing Rain

This morning upon waking

a gentle rain was falling,

lulling me to think

that spring had finally come!

Alas, three hours later,

when I looked outside again

I found that gentle snowflakes

had replaced that teasing rain.

I’m sure those raindrops smiled

as they ran giggling through the gutter,

knowing they had duped me

with their gentle spring-like cadence.

The image of rain drops smiling as they run giggling through the gutter is-- well, poetic. I an almost see them cavorting in their fun! I loved this, Cryssa.

What a coincidence! I'm sitting here still soaked from walking outside over a half an hour ago in the not so gentle rain, when I came across this poem! heehee... hopefully ours won't be followed by snow...The sky is black like midnight and its only 3:30!
I am so wonderfully pleased at your use of a Music Theory term! cadences...I think they are my favorite assignments to write! This was definitely a PAC (perfect authentic cadence)!!!!
Well done!
I love you and miss you on this rainy day!

Luv,
Ahna :~)

This is a delightful poem, Cryssa, a great fun way to handle the weather. We had the same type of event that ended up in 10 inches of spring snow--heavy and wet with run-off..........Jerry

I love the picture you painted with your words -- just like yesterday when the rain turned to snow. Teasing -- that's what Mother Nature likes to do ... we only need to learn to laugh at her antics and enjoy whatever she provides. Susan Williams

Cryssa...I love this teasingly sweet poem! I love rain...anytime...and when it turns into snowflakes it's even more gorgeous....but... then again...I live in Phoenix...where we rarely get rain...much less snowflakes... Today is windy here; however, the sun is beautiful and the day is nice and warm....Soon my friend..you shall be enjoying Spring!! hugs, lindalaw

I'm trying to send you Spring warmth, Cryssa, but someone keeps sending us colder weather from the north! Goodness, many have been lulled to believing Spring is here, haven't they? Well penned, and I hope the sun shines for you soon! Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
