Ah! The sweet sounds of nature, both day and night, inspiration at its best!

When twilight shadows deepen,
And night drapes her ebony sequined shawl
Over the graceful limbs of the trees,
An enchanting evening concerto begins!
Dazzling, in her gown of green,
Nature raises her delicate hand,
As a fragrant breeze gently rises,
And trees whisper in hushed tones,
Like an audience awaiting an aria.
Peepers gather in dew-dampened grass,
Male crickets prepare their music,
An owl hoots sporadically, awaiting his cue.
The coyote stops and listens,
He will soon join the chorus.
A softly haloed moon lights up the stage,
And the masterpiece begins!
Flawless harmony fills the forest,
As a rising crescendo echoes into the night!
The evening concerto plays on,
Until the deft fingers of dawn
Gently lift night’s delicate ebony shawl,
And the daytime musicians take their places.

Yes, after moving from the country into the city I dearly miss that music, now if I open my window at the night the blare of traffic is as offensive to me as rap music is to a country music fan.

How lovely, Annabel. The sounds of the night, both those sounds felt and those heard, if not diluted by sounds of mankind can indeed be a beautiful concerto.

And the masterpiece begins!

A masterpiece, indeed, and it's always free, yet so many today never take the time, to take it all in.
