Feathered Tenants

Some delightful little feathered tenants occupied the birdhouse on the boathouse at the lake we visited recently....

Poem Artwork

With vigilance they guard the nest,
In turn they forage food.
Baby Swallows chirping away,
During dinner’s interlude!

A close-knit feathered family,
Nature’s taught them well,
Perfect parenting Nature’s way,
Secrets they’ll never tell!

All day long the Swallow’s toil,
Family is everything!
And when evening shadows fall,
The young learn how to sing.

In their nest upon the boathouse,
The Swallows live in peace.
And when springtime returns again,
You can bet they’ll renew their lease!

The swallow returning to the boat house, they do that. This year however they pretty much avoided Capistrano for better digs up the road. Patrick

Awww, how weird I was just chatting with a neighbour, and she has a baby swallow on her breast. It thinks Vicky is her mum.
Don'tcha just love nature at its pure essence.

But what's more is that Vic going through chemo on that breast for cancer.

Above a wooden beam on my rear patio, for years the same (I think) the same family of Morning Doves has made or occupied the same nest and, while occupied, when opening the patio door I can see and hear the soft coo-coo'ing of the morning doves, or every now and then one would perch on the block wall of my fence waiting until I went back into the house or went off the patio, then the bird would fly into the nest. I have found myself waiting until late winter when the doves would, once again, occupy the nest above the beam.
Your friend, Mark
