Yet another inspiration from Campelot! I was sitting on the shore of the lake early one quiet morning, and a rather musical bullfrog serenaded me....

Poem Artwork

Watching me from your haughty perch
On a huge stone boldly protruding
From the tall reeds in the lake,
Bullfrog, you enchant me with your serenade!
Though not a particularly handsome fellow
With your dark, putrid green skin,
Bulging eyes and cursed warts!
I wonder if beneath all that
You might be a prince!
Could it be you’re under a spell?
Have you been waiting here for me?
Am I the one you have chosen?
Alas! I fear you may not have chosen wisely,
For my kisses have already been claimed.
My prince charming holds my willing heart captive!
You are no threat to him.
But do not give up hope your highness,
Wait patiently and she will come.
She will not see your warts, or your drab colour,
For she will look at you through the eyes of love,
And her kiss will set you free!

A lovely imaginative poem - and what could be a more pleasant read than by those who still dream the dreams of dreamers.

Some enchanted morning
You will meet a bull frog
His song will not persuade you
Your prince is yet your big dog
Still you could have kissed him
Done him quite a favor
Entranced and then seasoned him
Frog legs have quite the flavor
Mr. Ed will scorn me
So too will all his brothers
But I know that you'll forgive me
You're kinder than the others.:-)Patrick

Annabel,

Hope the bullfrog finds his mate soon, he sounds terribly sad. Really loved this.

How's come frogs waiting to be kissed are always male frogs? Ain't no females with buldging eyes and "dark putrid, green skin" and with warts, yet? Glad you didin't kiss that frog, Annabel, 'cause, even if you caught it, it's really only a frog, and yaghtt! Really, to kiss a frog! Who ever thought that one up. Ah yes, the brothers Grimm.
Your friend, Mark
