Dreaming of a warm sunny visit to the little bunky in the forest....

Poem Artwork

Neath a mantle of soft green leaves
Quivering in a gentle summer draught,
She feels the rhythm of nature
Pulsing through her, like her own heartbeat!
Each breath an awakening…
Senses tingling, she is acutely aware
Of every sound and scent
That entices her to linger in this peaceful place!
Birdsongs rise into the canopy of green,
Their sweet melodies lifted heavenward!
Mosses and lichens carpet the forest floor,
Sweet earthy fragrances intermingled with evergreen!
Squirrels cavorting busily through the trees
Stop now and then to watch her,
As if wondering why she is here
Yet accepting she belongs!
The forest is her sacred retreat,
A spiritual spa for her weary soul...
And as the cleansing of her spirit begins,
Her smile is worthy of a master’s brush!

This poem is heady with appreciation and unity. Great title for what the experience does. This is the language of the 'peace entities' in Avatar. Hope it grows like an innocuous weed throughout mankind. Nature is the key; but I glean from reading pages of your poetry, you already know that. Namaste ~~ Diana

Soul reaching words that satisfy the heart of the reader. Very well done, Anna. To have such a place to go is almost magical.

I AM THINKING...MOST ASSUREDLY...THAT 'HE' CERTAINLY HAD A 'SPIRTUAL SPA' IN MIND WHEN YOUR WONDERFUL GETAWAY PLACE IN THE FOREST WAS SET ASIDE. SOME WALK THROUGH SUCH A PLACE WIHOUT EVER REALIZING THE BENEFITS OF ITS BEAUTY. THANKS FOR SHARING, ANNABEL...YOU GET BETTER AND BETTER ALL THE TIME. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...

The forest is indeed a magical place. Our little "bunky" in the woods never ceases to amaze. We've got a Cheshire raccoon. Patrick

Though the thought of this humanisticly spiritual place seems wonderful in spring and summer, I can only imagine the beautiful quiet solitude of winter.

For all the times I've spent in the woods, I wish I had come across this little nymph. But, like your poem, she seems concealed amid the green leafy foliage. I often fished by the water's edge and hope that she would come out and bathe in the stream. But I think the dragonflies scared her and she did not show herself to me.

As you can see, your poem got me dreaming…

What a wonderful place she has to stop and take in the beauty around and and cleanse her mind of the ugliness from beyond this placid place.

The great northwood is also my sacred retreat and spiritual spa for my world weary soul, and me and some of my mutts are heading up there very soon to hopefully be refreshed and cleansed once more.
