I think we don't ever know the answer to some questions. It has to be lived by experience with the right person, then maybe the truth will come out if you do clic . I think understanding each other comes with time - but they say you never really know someone until you live with them. Even then - I really didn't know him oo well, I assure you.

This feels like a quest for the impossible. I guess we can't make anyone feel or think or be what we want them to, but we sure can wish for it until we let go and let them be where they are. I've done this many times, also.

This is a great poem. While the language is simple there is much to think about here.

Just a suggestion:

I'd either get rid of the words Feel, Live, Know, Understand, and Find, at the end of the line or in the beginning of the line that follows. The poem would flow better in my opinion if you do that.

I'm not sure anyone can give a definitive answer to your conundrum here, Regis, though each of us has doubtless experienced this agony. Personally, I'm a great believer in intuition when it comes to such matters as the emotional traffic between two hearts. Although, as you suggest, we can't dictate how another may respond, if our heart is brave enough to unveil itself, I'm sure the intended recipient of such beautiful bestowal at least feels its invisible, penetrating, intense and sincere gaze. The first way I can think of to induce them to know is to hand them the poem, Regis. Interesting twists of love you have shown us here, and I think any prospective love would find the an even greater interest in those lines....Jerry

The truth is, we can't make anyone do anything, they have to be the one to step forward. It is frustrating when someone doesn't care that we love them, but perhaps that is just our perception. Perhaps, they are feeling as much as they can and sadly, that is not enough. Aching poetry, Reg. Happy New Year.

You answered your own question, just ask, but not in ordinary language,but the language of love, let the intensity of your questions be sincerely known, but is not to say, you will get the answer, you wanted to hear, although the whole preceeding romantic process in itself is usually most rewarding.

It isn't always up to the one to impress upon another what is felt. All the subterfuge or cosmetically-tuned attention and desire will never work, and if it did it most likely will no work for the long-term. A person has to be himself. If that is not enough to ring the bells you want rung, you just have to deal with it however way you can.
