‘Tis a magical time of the year
For a baby born in the fall
The heat of summer is but a memory
And winter has yet come to call
October skies sparkle clear
The feel of fall is in the air
Old sol is drifting south
Halloween’s on the way, beware
Snows have started in the north
Colored Leaves explode in conflagration
Florida days are heaven on earth
It is the best month of any season
Squirrels are busy burying nuts
The creatures’ hair is growing long
Overhead, flocks are flying south
The cicada sings its rattling, whirring song
Citrus trees, past the fragrant bloom of summer
Laden now with dark green oranges
Crops in the groves have come to fruition
Hanging from overburdened branches
Mornings are oft’ covered with fog
Shrouding cabbage palms and live oak trees
Water is warm and air is cool
And quiet mornings have no hint of breeze
Our thoughts drift to turkey and trimmings
Thanksgiving is not far away
And they drift to merry days, family and presents
Only two months now, it’s Christmas day
Birthday and the month are synonymous for the babe
But now he has matured, grown larger
None-the-less the magic still exists
In his enchanted birth month named, October

A very nice transition of seasons within the lines of this colorful and precise poem.
Your wonderful imagery makes your reader feel as though they are there with you, seeing Florida in October. Beautiful work, Steve, and a pleasure to read.
My warmest regards,
