Honoring the three day period of reflection from the evening of Maundy Thursday through Easter Sunday of Holy Week.

Poem Artwork

           Maundy Thursday

I wept for Him today.

He washed the dust from our feet; opened our hearts

to His Commandment of Love.

‘Stay with me, remain with me’ – the betrayal was our own.

          Good Friday

I wept for Him today.

He understood the burden of this world.

Forgive our ignorance:

We are engulfed in darkness; our own agony begun.

          Holy Saturday

I wept for Him today.

The world is silent, shrouded in sorrow.

-   Loss beyond imagining -

We lay in a tomb of shallow breath – not yet alive.

          Easter Sunday

I wept for Him today.

He told us The Truth – hidden within ourselves:

We are not forsaken;

We can awaken - radiant in The Light.
