Hey, I think I might have found a little humor...?

Poem Artwork

What is there to do with this cursed heat,

I don’t even feel much like anything to eat,

I sweat all over especially in my seat,

Please, dear God, give us a break so I can walk in my bare feet.

Yeah, I know I complain all winter long awaiting the warmth,

But now that I got it I don’t want it past July fourth,

It’s almost September now & cool breezes should come out of the north,

I just bet those Canadians are denying their cool weather to US,

Again, please God, allow the cooler weather to come forth.

Anyone that wants to can remind me of my complaint herein,

Later on when the winter winds are cranking out the snow,

But I don’t care I just want to rid myself of the heat,

Yeah, I know that you all are thinking just like me; that that would be so freakin’ NEAT!

EASY DOES IT ED. I DON'T LIKE THE HEAT EITHER, BUT THE COLD WIND BLOWS AND I LOOK FOR SPRING AS I THROW ANOTHER LOG ON THE FIRE. THAT AIN'T NEAT BUT LIFE'S HARD TO BEAT.

By now, Ida should be arriving with cooling rains and a bit of flooding here and there. But just imagine the folks in much of Louisiana that don't have any clean water to drink, no electricity for AC in the foreseeable future, little gasoline until the power comes back on and basically, very miserable sleepless nights.

Just count your blessings that you are not living there. Like Jerry Bolton. Makes me wonder how he is doing if he's even still kicking.

I can relate, Ed. We had record-breaking heat at the end of June and throughout most of July and into the first part of August. A lot of smoke as well from all the wildfires. But for almost two weeks now, it has cooled off most pleasantly. We just could use a lot more rain, but I am grateful. Love and peace to you, Ed,

Regis. 🍁
