Outta The Box
Lefty,Out of the box thinking, I want me an example,
Ok, I said let’s use the box to give you a little sample,
I’ve got a box that’s one foot square sitting on the floor,
To give it a location, it sits there by my door,
I ask a simple question, how many sides are there?
You said It’s pretty obvious, but I wanna be fair,
You see sides, the definitions, there are so very many ,
But here we’ll use the box, cause you see it has a plenty,
Four is what you say, in math that may be right ,
But the box is a little different, some are not in sight,
That’s just the outside, but there’s an inside don’t you know,
With exactly the same number that don’t really show,
There’s the top side and the bottom, that must be added too,
We’re getting up in numbers and these are just a few,
What about the side next to the door and the one that is away,
When left and right are added, my brain begins to sway,
Then there’s north and south side and how about east and west,
There’s the up side and the down side, my mind needs a rest,
The daylight and the dark side, does hot and cold side count?
A number I can’t give you, I don’t know the amount,
My math just ain’t that good, it’s also like I told you,
Remember there’s that inside, it must be counted too,
After starting out this siding mess, I’m sure it’s never done,
But, Outta the box, I may be ready, to be inserted in one!

Love ya!
Jane
From the book on the subject, one of the most famous proponents who recently retired or died as I recall, had a team of men try to figure out how to get a ping-pong ball out of a pipe of the exact same diameter about a foot tall, stuck inside with a few tools like paper clips and paper, some toothpicks, etc.
The out-of-the-box solution was for the men to pee in the pipe so that the ping-pong ball would float to the top and be easily removed. Very few of the teams came up with that solution. Most people I know were afraid of my urine bag with its see-through "sides." As if they never had ever, touched their own pee.
