Some jobs lead to the development of better skills and then there's stuff I write. Someone has to serve as a bad example.

She Used to be a Counselor

Mister Jones, I was sent here to reform your chart’s prediction,
I need to do a back ground on what causes your addiction,

Were You born of a single parent from a relationship dissolved,
No ma’am , he’s no relation , but I think he was involved,

Then you’re an only child with no siblings to contest,
No ma’am , I got all the gibblings Momma ate the rest,

Would you say that alcohol reduced you to this rank,
No Ma’am I think it was the kinda whiskey that I drank,

Mister jones I’m not on the same train of thought with you,
Never been on a train ma’am, but I rode a horse or two,

Don’t never drink on a horse, I gotta warn you ma’am,
A twelve pack in a saddle bag, it don’t fit worth a damn,

Let’s not get off the subject Jones, I guess I’m not too clear,
No, ma’am, I git off alright, but tryin to stand’s a fear,

We’re not getting anywhere, it’s hopeless , I’m believing’
No ma’am , I like your story; go on, don’t be leaving,

OK, What’s it feel like to get drunk and lose your mind,
Ma’am it’s kinda hard explaining to a lady of your kind,

You see you ain’t a swinger or lady of the night,
And them’s the kind I entertain until it’s plum daylight,

Whiskey pulls the curtain down on all your heavy thinkin ,
And Your memory disappears with that tasty stuff you’re drinkin,

But Mister Jones you’re doin wrong and know it, I can bet,
Yes ma’am , but doin what I’m doin, is what I’m tryin to forget,

You see a memory ain’t worth having if it causes you distress,
And it’s all these bad memories that makes my life a mess,

Yes I need reformin, I‘m headed straight for ruin,
But you Ma’am, need informin a little hands on doin,

You’re an AA counselor , but you’re prettier than most.
How about you join me in a little breakfast toast.

Try this, ain’t that better, a couple more? You see I’m right!
Yes ma’am, you can reform me , what are you doin tonight?

I can see you are back on track, I cracked up at almost every line. Finely tuned humor doesn't get any better than this. I would love to see this routine on AGT. Simon would stand up, Howie would howl, Heidi would fall in love and Sophia would scowl.

You're right, Tom, you do serve as a "bad example" alright. Poor Boss-Lady has much to regret following your horse-humping fears and tumbles. I was going to ask (well, just being curious), if Boss-Lady was not one of the AA reformers who tried to help out with the brand of whiskey you were guzzling. If she was, well, you lucky Devil, you got stuck for GOOD !!! Best to both. TW
P.S. "Confessional poetry" on authorsden (check with Liz Barstowe) has been outlawed, taboo-ed.
