some days
they stand, solemnly
gentle giants above the
land
soft spoken and Noble

Always
Massive in stature
swaying to their own, easy
time
these tall trees
looking down, smiling

Some days
creaking slow
long and loud
Like a massive ancient
door
opening ………………..

Some days
howling like wolves
in the night
pushing and bending
against a relentless
wind
barking and breaking
into a soulful, mournful
prayer

Shedding deadwood

To the rhythm of life
these prehistoric gifts
from long ago days
to cherish
always
treasure, love
and respect

Here we have huge western red cedars and, as Michelle has stated below, they inpire one with wisdom and placid serenity that is ageless. Thank you for sharing this gift, Stan. Love and peace,

There is something almost sacred about these trees. What a story they could tell if they could only talk.

I love this, Stan. I find trees (let alone Redwoods, lol) to just have this wisdom and serenity that oozes from them. You conveyed that so beautifully here, this is a keeper.

more than anything, even mroe than the sounds and the bark and the leaves trembling, and the trunks you cant fit your arms aorund [only a heart].....
more than anything, i enjoyed the silence, [no...] the reverence, you wove between the lines. .. . .. the Godlike trees. . .. as living aching proof. .. .
ents.
and they all need hugging.

I love trees. We saw the redwoods when I was a little girl. They were magnificent.

Nice mood, I like the way you observe and contemplate.
"prehistoric gifts", interesting definition.

Stan, I like the way you capture the ancient nobility of the tree
in its many moods. I think that I shall never see... -gene.
