Crimson and gold autumn leaves tumble
But before they reach the forest floor
A wild zephyr lifts them heavenward
In a merry dance to who knows where
Faded wildflowers bravely stand their ground
Delightful remnants of summer's glory
Nestled into the trees as though seeking shelter
In these cool autumn days
There's a crispness in the fresh breeze
And the silence here is in perfect harmony
With the echo of my footsteps
Announcing my presence to the universe
My heart wants to sing out loud...
For the reality of the simplicity of life
When I am one with nature
Is the purest kind of joy there is!
