Dog is My Copilot

We just returned from our 16 day roundtrip drive and visit to our little slice of woodsy heaven in Missouri. We drove the 3,600 miles in three days each way, but the last day from Albuquerque to LA was 800 miles and 12 hours. The dogs enjoyed resting on the console to help navigate road hazards. Travelling with 3 females has its own set of challenges.

Poem Artwork

Nice going master

You just missed your turn

We agree with mommy

When will you ever learn?

Take a brief moment

Before you pull away

To read the map and memorize

The route we’ll take today

Oh my, Master

You’re tailgating a trucker

My little ears start burning

Each time you shout out Mother F*****r

They really can’t help it

And you are on vacation

You must slow down to appreciate

The landmarks of our nation

By the way master

We’ve been on the road since three

If you don’t stop somewhere soon

On this console we will pee

Yes it’s better than the kennel

To leave the woods just made us cry

But should the circumstance allow

Please next time let us fly

I always appreciate and enjoy your humor, Patrick. I took a road trip (not nearly as long as yours)recently with my best friend. It was me and her two other boys (canines) so she was the only girl in the vehicle. Lots of fun. ☻ Love and peace,

Regis

A wonderful capture of the esprit of this most INCREDIBLE journey, Patrick! How is it that dogs always lean the wrong way when you go round the bend? I have never been able to figure that one out... xx

We want to know why our votes don't count against yours because it was 3 to 1 for a pit stop by our count!

Very funny. And to those of us that refuse to leave their four legged "kids", how true, Bonnie and I are thinking of selling my little sports car and buying Honda CUV so we can take our two kids in comfort.

A charmer!
What I'd like to know is, how does that dog look so clean?

As per usual, cuz, the dogs are smarter & more humorous than you,
They keep writing me emails and telling me you belong in a zoo,
Thank them by the way for with this poem, making forget I am blue,
If they are upset with regards your language,
The next time they ride along with you, on your lips they should use super glue...Jurseeeeeeeeeeeeeeey
