Stars gaze down as watchman at the gate,
Indifferent to the workings of human fate.
The stars appear at night without a care;
We gaze up upon them and simply stare.
They pursue their course ever revolving,
Raising questions that never find solving.
The night sky lies there, overhead looming;
Human life below only busy with grooming.
Let us not ever forget those inscrutable stars;
For eons, they have roamed far beyond Mars.
We dare not forget those coy winks of light;
They twinkle without shame all the night.
For all eternity, they go without a name;
They can do no wrong, they have no blame.
With humans gone at the passing of the hour,
It would not infringe upon their vast power.
Do we care about the dodo, now extinct?
Even the dinosaurs vanished in a blink.
Yet every night the North Star takes a bow,
As a fertile imagination wrinkles my brow.
BOLD ARE THEY WITH NO HESITANCY, THEY FREELY ROAM THE HEAVENS! TIS NO WONDER THEN THAT ONE OF THEM, WITH ITS SURE AND UN-EXTINGUISHABLE 'BRIGHT' WAS CHOSEN TO BE USED AS A GUIDE TO HUMANITY...WHO SOUGHT THE PROMISED BIRTHPLACE OF OUR SALVATION. WONDERFUL RHYME SCHEME, JOHN, DONE WELL AND ENJOYED. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
