Rain of Light

Those showers of light,
How they burn bright.
Deep in the dark sky,
Heaven never so high.

Our questions ascend,
Deep mysteries descend.
As the moon ascends,
The night dew descends.

The stars are all aglitter,
Stir desire as they must.
The Milky Way pours forth
Its promenade of star dust.

Night ghosts they shimmer,
Sow mystery with intrigue.
The moon grows dimmer,
As it suffers lunar fatigue.

At night, no birds in chorus,
Night silence always prevails.
While night sky movement
Goes about all its travails.

When suddenly, a shower,
Streams of light fly overhead,
The meteors take on power,
Eyes filled with awe instead.

The rain of light fanned,
Across the heavens spanned.
Midnight ghosts never tell,
Where ancient mysteries dwell.

Between the night and the eye,
A universal mystery does lie.
Falls down as light misty rain,
Wonders across earth’s plain.

They are prodigies of light,
Descend to enter our sight.
Drawn from a distant sun,
The light of the heart spun.
